Position(s): Grounds Keeper

Summary of Duties: The Keeper is to maintain and keep the Casino and surrounding property in a professional manner. We would like it if the public remembered us as a well kept and beautiful place to visit and pleasing to the eye, in bright colorful floral arrangements and interesting designs. A memory equal to the Peace Gardens, we want people to say that this place looks better than any other Casino they’ve been to in the surrounding area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Mowing Grass
• Seeding of lawn
• Fertilizing
• Improving lawn
• Planting Trees-Shrubs-Flowers
• Watering Trees-Shrubs-Flowers
• Building flower beds
• Caring for and maintaining flower beds
• Clean up trash
• Maintain grounds equipment

In Spring: Preparing the grounds for planting, ordering fertilizer for the lawn (weed & feed).

In Summer: continuous maintenance of flower beds, lawn, trees as well as improving the appearance of the external of the Casino & Hotel.

In Fall: Wind down the growing season, putting up equipment for the winter. Pull out plants for the season. Plant bulbs for spring, get snow removal equipment serviced, up and running.

In Winter: Go over plans for spring & summer planting and improvement (back of Casino, Marina, Golf course and back of Hotel). Snow removal from all sidewalks, entrances, fire exits, employee parking lot, and Casino and Hotel parking lot.

RV Parking Area: Replace rock with grass, possible shrubs & ornamental trees. Possibility of expansion and improving looks along with picnic tables. Building or repair picnic tables.

Entrance of Casino: Bottom to the top of the hill, a tree lined boulevard with flower beds.

Marina: The landscaping aspect area surrounding marina.

Continuous grounds keeping: Landscape and seed around the wind generator. Painting the stripes on parking lot, the handicap parking area, loading area, pedestrian crossing areas.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Must consent to a background check in order to qualify for a gaming license.
• Must pass random drug testing.
• Must have certification in building trades or mechanics.
• Must have knowledge in small engine repair.

Relationships to Other Departments: Reports directly to the Casino Manager.

Employment Status: Full-time permanent position. Full benefit package, Health Insurance, 401K, Dental and Vision, and Personal Time Off. Native American preference applies.
